摘要
The laser induced pressure pulse method (LIPP) is employed to investigate the electric field distribution in short-circuited soda-lime glass samples after a DC poling. It is shown that the space charge may be represented by a double layer adjacent to the anode. The potential difference across the double layer for a sample poled with 40 kV/cm during 3 hours at 107-degrees-C was -300 Volts. The thickness of the double layer was estimated from the measurement of the total charge circulating through the sample during the poling, and for a sample poled under the conditions above, it was found to be approximately 2.0-mu-m which yields to a maximum electric field of 3MV/cm in the double layer.
