摘要
The crystal structure and the magnetic properties of the compound PrGe1.60 were investigated by neutron diffraction and magnetic measurements. The compound PrGe1.60 has an orthorhombic structure derived from the tetragonal α-ThSi2 structure. The structure resembles that the Tb3Ge5 but the Ge vacancies are larger in number and their ordering is less. The compound PrGe1.60 orders ferromagnetic at Tc=16 k. The Pr sites atoms at one o the two crystallographic Pr have a substantially larger magnetic moment than the Pr atoms at the other site. It is shown that a compound of the composition PrGe2 does not exist in the equilibrium phase diagram. © 1990.
