摘要
Heavily deformed dilute Al-Mn-Si alloys which contain about 0.5 vol.% of small plate-like alpha-Al15Mn3Si2 particles have been subjected to rapid heat treatments to induce primary recrystallization. The resulting microstructures are unusual in that they have large grain sizes and contain significant numbers of annealing twins. It is proposed the twins form owing to the presence of the particles either which pin the grain boundaries anisotropically or which affect grain nucleation during recrystallization.
