摘要：

A system with imperfect maintenance is considered, i. e. , after maintenance the system may be either not be changed or may fail, with certain probabilities. Formulas for the MTTF (mean time to failure) and availability are obtained and a policy to maximize availability is derived. A numerical example is given for a triply-redundant system.
