CHARACTERIZATION OF LEAD FREE 2212-PHASE OF BISMUTH SUPERCONDUCTOR WITH TC OF 93-K

摘要
The lead free 2212 phase of the bismuth cuprate superconductor with T(c) of 93 K has been synthesized. The oxygen content and the structural charateristics which maximize T(c) are determined using neutron diffraction. The chemical composition and the homogeneity of the superconducting phase is determined using energy dispersive X-ray analysis and scanning electron microscopy. It is shown that the subsequent handling of these oxides needs greater care to prevent detrimental effects on their superconductivity.
