CRYSTALLIZATION PROCESSES IN BORON-CONTAINING AND HYDROGEN-CONTAINING ULTRAFINE POWDERS

摘要
The crystallization processes in ultrafine amorphous boron- and hydrogen-containing powders obtained by high-rate synthesis with sodium borohydride in solutions have been investigated. The boron and hydrogen contents are found to depend on the pH value of the solutions and the anionic surroundings of the ion clusters. The maximum crystallization temperature increases depending on the boron content and the heat evolution sharply decreases with the hydrogen content in the samples. The maximum heat evolution of the crystallization is registered with equal numbers of boron and hydrogen atoms as nearest neighbours of the metal atoms in the metal lattice. © 1990.
