PERIOD-DOUBLING ROUTE TO CHAOS IN A STANDING-WAVE LASER - A COMPARISON BETWEEN THEORY AND EXPERIMENT

摘要
A period-doubling route to chaos in a single-mode standing-wave xenon laser is analyzed. Specifically, the results of the experiments are compared with the numerical results based on a model for a single-mode standing-wave laser. The period-doubling route to chaos is studied using the temporal and spectral properties of the intensity, intensity phase plots and return maps. The chaotic behavior of some data sets are confirmed by the calculations of their correlation dimensions.
