摘要：

A thematic content analysis performed on a sample of articles published in the Ladies Home Journal and Good Housekeeping magazines over the period of 1954 to 1982 revealed a gradual decline in the number having themes of women as wives, mothers, and homemakers and an increase in articles with political, social and economic (i.e., career) themes. Traditional sex role models. however, still dominate the pages of most women's magazines.
