摘要
Nonsuppressed ion chromatography using a short guard column is shown to offer a fast and reliable method for separation and determination of sulfate. By optimization of the eluent composition the retention time of sulfate is below 1 min and sufficient resolution in the presence of excess of common anions is achieved. Calibration plots are linear in the range 0.5-200 mg/l sulfate. The method has been applied to the analysis of airborne particulates, diesel soot and tap-water.
