MAGNETORESISTIVE PROPERTIES AND THERMAL-STABILITY OF NI-FE/AG MULTILAYERS

摘要
The magnetoresistive properties of sputtered Ni-Fe/Ag multilayers have been investigated as a function of thermal treatments. For the virgin sample, a maximum magnetoresistance ratio of 17% with a saturation field as low as 300 Oe is obtained at room temperature. In addition, the R(H) curve is found to be perfectly linear and reversible. Moreover, these properties improve with annealing treatments. For annealing temperatures of 280-degrees-C, the magnetoresistance slope dR/dH increases up to 165% per kOe, which is the largest value ever reported in magnetically coupled multilayers.
