HOST-IMPURITY RADIATIVE ENERGY-TRANSFER IN CDO-SIO2ND3+ GLASSES

摘要
Glasses in the CdO-SiO2 system, at room temperature show a broad (0.5 eV) UV-excited photoluminescence (PL) band of intrinsic nature centered at 590 nm. The PL intensity shows a weak dependence with temperature down to 10 K and a lifetime of the order of 0.1 ms. For Nd3+-doped cadmium silicate glasses, an effective radiative transfer between the host and the Nd3+ ions is observed.
