PLASTICITY MODELS FOR SOIL, GRANULAR AND JOINTED ROCK MATERIALS

摘要
A FORMULATION of plasticity models for isotropic soils, granular materials and intact jointed rock is presented in the spirit of the theory of constitutive equations. The formulation is sufficiently general to encompass the primary mechanical properties of such materials (e.g. irreversible dissipative deformation, dilitancy and compressibility, arbitrary cross-section with octahedral planes in principal stress space of the yield and plastic potential surfaces, and dependence of the deformation on the stress-rate). The formulation includes rigid-plastic, elasto-plastic, perfectly plastic and work-hardening models.
