摘要
A unicellular microalga, Oocystis sp., isolated from a pond located in Hawaii, was examined for growth under high carbon dioxide concentration. It grew in air containing up to 20% CO2 and at temperatures up to 35-degrees-C. A culture through which air containing 10% CO2 at 35-degrees-C was bubbled gave the best growth under a light intensity of 120 muE m-2 s-1. Such highly CO2-tolerant microalgae may be suitable for the biological reduction of CO2 emissions caused by human activities.
