MAGNETIC-MOMENT DISTRIBUTION AROUND V-ATOMS IN FE3-XVXSI ALLOYS

摘要
Neutron diffuse scattering and saturation magnetization experiments have been made on single crystals of Fe3-xVxSi with x = 0.15. Much weaker atomic clustering of V atoms has been observed compared to Fe3-xMnxSi alloys. A previously developed model of magnetic moment defect in the vicinity of an impurity atom in Fe3Si has been fitted to the experimental cross sections. Results obtained lead to the conclusion that V atoms might carry small magnetic moment of about 0.4-mu(B).
