RAMAN-STUDY OF ELECTROCHEMICAL REACTIONS OF A PT ELECTRODE IN H2SO4 SOLUTION

摘要
We have succeeded for the first time to observe electrochemical processes at a Pt electrode surface in sulfuric acid aqueous solution by means of in situ unenhanced Raman spectroscopy. The difference spectra relative to the spectrum for the double layer potential region were accumulated for several potential ranges in the cyclic voltammetry. We report Pt-O vibration (500 cm(-1)) of the electrochemically oxidized layer and the modification of inter-molecular interactions of water molecules induced by change in the electrode potential.
