摘要
Simple mathematical functions have been found that describe such fundamental structures as primitive packings, closest packings and body centred packing of atoms. Functions for chemical structures like diamond, cristobalite, zincblende, CsCl, CaFe2, ReO3, and sodalite are given. The concept of mathematical dynamics is defined, and used to describe how surfaces are related to structures.
