The partial molar isentropic pressure coefficients at infinite dilution k∞S, 2= -(∂V∞2/∂p)Swhere V∞2is the partial molar volume at infinite dilution have been determined for the sequence isomeric tripeptides ld -alanylglycylglycine, glycyl-d-alanylglycine, and glycylglycyl-ld-alanine in aqueous solution at T = 298.15 K. The variation in the k∞S, 2values for the peptides has been rationalized in terms of likely solute-solvent interactions. For glycyl-d-alanylglycine the methyl side-chain disrupts the hydrogen-bonding interactions of the adjacent peptide functional groups. © 1993 Academic Press Ltd.
