Diorganotin diethylphosphorothioates of the types [R2Sn{O(S)P(OEt)2}2] (R = Me, Et, (n)Pr, (n)Bu or (t)Bu), [Me2SnCl{O(S)P(OEt)2}], ([R2Sn{O(S)P(OEt)2}]2O)2 (R = Me, Et, (n)Pr or (n)Bu) and [tBu2Sn(mu-OH){O(S)P(OEt)2}]2 have been synthesized. In the bis complexes, the ligand behaves in an anisobidentate fashion. All the complexes were characterized by elemental analyses, IR and NMR (H-1, C-13, P-31 and Sn-119) spectroscopy. The stereochemistry of these complexes is discussed on the basis of the NMR data. Crystal structures are reported for two representative complexes, namely ([Me2Sn{O(S)P(OEt)2}]2O)2 and [tBu2Sn(mu-OH){O(S)P(OEt)2}]2.
