NMR lineshape and relaxation times in (AgI)x(Ag2O-nB2O3)1-x have been measured for a range of c compositions in an attempt to test the predictions of various models for the dynamics of the Ag+ ions. The lineshapes are Lorentzian except at very low temperatures where they were determined to be Gaussian. No evidence for two Ag+ ion populations was found. The T1 data as a function of inverse temperature features a broad minima. Order of magnitude calculations suggest that the chemical shift interaction is responsible for the relaxation. Analysis using a stretched exponential correlation function gives experimental parameters which are consistent with those from conductivity data. © 1990.
