If mitigation of CO2 emissions is required, the capture of CO2 and utilization for enhanced oil recovery is a feasible option applicable to Western Canada. Here there are sources, sinks and potential economic incentive. The benefits from enhanced oil recovery can provide a significant offset against the cost of meeting environmental targets.
