摘要
The large-scale conformational properties of DNA are important for its function. This review covers new insights into DNA supercoiling and the first investigations of knot formation during the random cyclization of DNA. The studies of knotting showed that DNA conformational properties can depend strongly on ionic conditions. We discuss the utility of the worm-like chain model for the description of DNA conformations.
