摘要：

We investigated the helical structure of discotic cholesteric liquid crystals using cellobiose derivatives as chiral dopants in a discotic nematic host. A characteristic property of the new mixtures is the occurrence of a glass-like state. Due to extremely small pitches we observed for the first time selective reflection in a chiral discotic system. In addition, we report on the first observation of discotic blue phases. Microscopic studies, reflection spectra, and Kossel diagrams indicate the appearance of three discotic blue phases, BP(D)I, BP(D)II, and BP(D)III which behave similar to the known calamitic modifications.
