A STUDY OF THE CSI-TMAE PHOTOCATHODE

摘要
The quantum efficiency of a CsI-TMAE photocathode has been found to increase by over a factor of 2 under bombardment of positive ions from the avalanche process. A quantum efficiency of about 40% has been achieved for wavelengths less-than-or-equal-to 190 nm. This "enhancement" can be removed by an electrical discharge or by a brief exposure to a vacuum. Results on photocathode ageing are also presented.
