摘要
Sintered alpha-Cr2O3 microcrystals were used as model solids in investigating the surface morphology and the vibrational properties of CO adsorbed on more disordered specimens. Starting from the established fact that the microcrystals of sintered samples expose prevalently (01 $($) over bar$$ 12) faces and, to a less extent, (($) over bar 2116) and (11 $($) over bar$$ 20) faces, we have compared the TR spectra of CO adsorbed on high surface area and sintered alpha-Cr2O3 samples, with the aim to evidentiate the effect of increasing defects concentration on the TR spectra of the adsorbed CO.
