摘要
In order to improve the fracture toughness and mechanical properties of TGAP/DAP system, modified polyetherimide was incorporated in the tetrafunctional epoxy resin system. During the hydrolysis of polyetherimide, the formation of new carboxylic acid and amide increased gradually with increasing the hydrolysis time of neat polyetherimide. As the content of modified polyetherimide was increased up to 10 wt%, the mechanical property of cured epoxy resin was significantly increased compared with that of the unmodified polyetherimide system. In TGAP/DAP/MPEI system, the number and size of dispersed phase within cured epoxy resin were gradually decreased with the increase of the hydrolysis time of polyethermide. In addition, investigation of the relationship between the morphology and the mechanical properties was also undertaken in TGAP/DAP/MPEI system.
