Normal erythrocyte and leukocyte kinetics and normal hemostatic function are reviewed with emphasis on those aspects that are clinically significant. Common abnormalities of erythrocytes, leukocytes and hemostasis in horses, and laboratory tests appropriate for detecting and evaluating these changes are discussed. Interpretation of the results of these tests is emphasized.
