DC resistivity measurements on solid solutions of Fe//2// minus //2//xSn//x//1// plus //xO//4 are reported as a function of tin concentration and temperature in the present paper. The resistivity is observed to increase with increasing x. This variation is explained in terms of the cation distribution and a hopping mechanism. The activation energy of each sample is determined from the temperature dependence of the resistivity. The variation in the dielectric constant and the dielectric loss as a function of composition and frequency of applied field are also reported. The behavior is explained in terms of the Koops model.
