摘要
The polarization dependence of an arrayed-waveguide wavelength multiplexer for a dense WDM system is successfully eliminated by depositing stress applying film on the waveguide. ne film compensates for waveguide birefringence induced by thermal stress. 16 wavelength channels with a 0.8 nm spacing are operated with no polarization dependence.
