摘要
A record unrepeatered transmission span of 410km at 2.488 Gbit/ s for a single remotely pumped erbium amplifier is reported. Dispersion compensating fibre is used at the receiver to minimise the self-phase modulation effects associated with high transmitted powers (+19.5dBm). The remote amplifier is pumped over the transmission fibre from the receiver end:using a 300mW 1480nm pump. The high 1480nm pump power ensures Raman gain over the last fibre length.
