A TRANSPORT MATRIX FOR COLD NEUTRON BEAMS PROPAGATED IN NEUTRON GUIDES

摘要
A method is presented, based on transport matrix operators, intended to study cold neutron propagation in neutron beam guides. These transport operators have been calculated for guides of arbitrary length and curvature taking into account the effects of gravity and the effective reflectivity at the guide walls. This technique was applied to the ILL H53 neutron beam used in the Grenoble neutron-antineutron oscillation experiment showing a good agreement between the calculations and the experimental data.
