ORAL MANIFESTATIONS OF NON-HODGKINS-LYMPHOMA IN HIV-INFECTED PATIENTS

The incidence of non-Hodgkin's lymphomas (NHL) in patients infected with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is relatively high. However, there have been few reports on the clinical and histopathological features of oral manifestations of NHL in these patients. The lesions reported so far were all tumorous swellings with or without ulceration, as in non-HIV-infected patients. In this report 3 cases are presented of HIV-infected patients with solitary, primary oral NHL. These lesions showed a striking resemblance to acute, necrotizing gingivitis, a common finding in these patients, thus making the diagnosis more difficult. © 1990 Munksgaard International Publishers Ltd.
