Interferons are members of the cytokine family, with diverse antiviral, antiproliferative, antifibrotic, and immunomodulatory activities. Over the past 10 years, interferon use in clinical dermatology has extended beyond its historical antiviral efficacy. Fn this article, FDA-approved indications and non-FDA-approved dermatologic uses of interferons are reviewed.
