Electric field behavior is determined on perfect metallic wedges of bidimensional, conical, and three-dimensional shape. The analytical treatment is based on solving Laplace's equation in spherical and conical coordinate systems. For both cases, the components of the electric field behave like rα, presenting a singularity when α < 0. A quasi-analytic procedure is used to determine α based on the theory of Legendre and Lame's functions. This allows an accuracy of, say, seven decimal places that is easy to increase, if necessary. © 1990 IEEE
