PRODUCTION OF CYCLOFRUCTAN FROM INULIN BY BACILLUS-CIRCULANS MCI-2554

摘要
A strain of Bacillus circulans, MCI-2554, which produced high levels of cycloinulo-oligosaccharide fructanotransferase (CFTase), was isolated from soil. The high enzyme activity results in the production of large amounts of cycloinulo-oligosaccharides (cyclofructan) composed of cycloinulohexaose and cycloinucloheptaose. Optimal culture conditions for production of CFTase were identified, and CFTase activity of 1.89 U/ml was obtained in the culture supernatant.
