LARGE CHIRAL ASYMMETRIES IN LIGHT REFLECTED FROM AN OPTICALLY-ACTIVE FABRY-PEROT-INTERFEROMETER

摘要
Light reflected from an optically active Fabry-Perot interferometer immersed in achiral ambient media is shown to manifest large chiral asymmetries at high reflectance under conditions of (i) total reflection, or (ii) metallic reflection, at the rear chiral-achiral interface. These configurations should greatly facilitate investigation of weakly chiral gyrotropic thin films and layers.
