摘要
When nitrate (NO//3) reacts with propylene (C//3H//6) under conditions more closely approximating atmospheric conditions, the yields of propylene glycol dynitrate (PGDN) are not really as large as has been believed due to the competing reactions producing formaldehyde and acetaldehyde, or alpha -(nitrooxy) acetone. This paper has established the existence of the reactions producing alcohol-nitrates in significant yields when OH or NO//3 reacts with C//3H//6. The production of these nitrates from OH addition to C//3H//6 occurs solely through reactions of the type RO//2 plus NO yields RONO//2.
