摘要
Araneid and uloborid webs were examined microscopically while subjecting them to tension stresses. Events associated with the conversion of a sticky spiral-radius junction to the pulley form by slow pulls were detailed. Species studied were Acacesia thamonata, Argiope argentata, Eriophora edax, Scoloderus, tuberculifer, Metazygia sp., Eustala fuscovittata, Mangora melanocephala, Dolichognatha sp., Leucauge sp., Pachygnatha sp., Tetragnatha sp. and Ulobobrus geniculatus.
