Excess molar enthalpies HEm are reported for (ethane + butan-1-ol) at the temperatures (298.15, 323.15, and 348.15) K and at the pressures (5, 10, and 15) MPa. The excess molar heat capacity CEp,m as calculated from the temperature dependence of HEm, is very pressure dependent, changing from negative to positive as the pressure changes from 10 MPa to 15 MPa. The HEm results are explained in terms of chemical, physical, and structural effects and compared with the UNIFAC-2 prediction. © 1991 Academic Press Limited All rights reserved.
