WAITING-TIMES FOR THE EVEN AND ODD COHERENT STATES

Conditional and unconditional waiting times are considered for the even and odd coherent states in the continuous measurement of photon number. It is found that the waiting times for the even coherent state are shorter than those for the odd coherent state. This result reflects the photon statistics of the even and odd coherent states. Furthermore the remarkable fact is found that the conditional and unconditional waiting times are equal for the even (odd) coherent state, even though the state has the bunching (antibunching) correlation.
