摘要
Sagittal split osteotomy of the mandible is a widely practiced procedure for correcting jaw deformities. It was first described by Trauner and Obwegeser1 and later modified.2 Behrman3 surveyed some 600 cases and most of the complications were relapse, hemorrhage, trauma to the mandibular nerves, edema, fragmentation of the ramus, necrosis, sequestration of bone, and infection. Amputation neuroma complicating sagittal split osteotomy of the mandible is rare.4 The purpose of this article is to present an unusual case of amputation neuroma of the inferior dental nerve posing a diagnostic problem. © 1991.
