摘要
Lead contents of tap water and bottled spring waters have been determined by flame-atomic absorption spectrometry. Because of the low concentration of lead, direct aspiration of samples into the flame was not suitable, so a preconcentration stage was necessary. The lead in water samples was concentrated by various methods: “evaporation”, “extraction” and “extraction after evaporation” of samples were used and their advantages and disadvantages were compared. “Extraction after evaporation” was found to be the most suitable method. The lead contents of most samples were around 10 ppb which is within normal limits. Lead-based plumbing material was found to contribute to the lead content of water. © 1990, Taylor & Francis Group, LLC. All rights reserved.
