摘要
The Cottrell-Stokes Law is examined from the standpoint of thermal activation theory, using a model in which obstacles of a single type multiply as plastic deformation proceeds. The law does not hold if the obstacles are point barriers of infinite strength, and the dislocation bows out between them. It holds if the obstacles are of finite strength and range, and the dislocation advances rigidly across them. © 1990.
