摘要
Adsorption of potassium on a nickel (100)-substrate was investigated by low energy electron diffraction (LEED). At a coverage of theta = 0.25 a well ordered c(4 X 2) superstructure is observed which is stable up to temperatures of about 200 K. LEED IV-spectra were measured using a computer controlled video system (AUTOLEED). In the full dynamical structure analysis both, bridge and on-top sites could be ruled out in favour of hollow adsorption sites yielding a Pendry R-factor of R = 0.25 for the best theory-experiment fit. The K-Ni layer spacing results to be 2.675 +/- 0.05 angstrom equivalent to a K-Ni bondlength of 3.20 +/- 0.05 angstrom or a K-radius of 1.96 +/- 0.05 angstrom. The topmost substrate layer spacing is identical to the nickel bulk value of 1.76 angstrom within the limits of error.
