摘要
Although studied by a lot of authors, the electrochemical behavior of selenium still presents some ignored points, especially on platinum electrodes. We have shown in this study that the presence of an oxide layer of PtO had a strong influence on this behavior and on the crystallographic structure of the deposits. Spectroscopic measurements have been performed to enlighten the role of this oxide layer. The presence of this oxide layer induces the formation of the alpha monoclinic variety of selenium, whereas the amorphous variety grows in its absence.
