摘要
Direct evidence of the overall stereochemistry of the KD08P synthase reaction was obtained by using 3-deuterio and 3-fluoro analogues of phosphoenolpyruvate as alternative substrates and by subsequent H-1 and F-19 NMR analysis of the enzymatic reaction products. The results reveal the si face addition of enzyme-bound phosphoenolpyruvate to the re face of the carbonyl of arabinose 5-phosphate.
