LANGBEINITE BASED PHOSPHORS FOR APPLICATIONS IN THERMOLUMINESCENCE DOSIMETRY

摘要
It is known that sulphates are good phosphors. CaSO4:Dy is commonly used as it possesses several of the properties desired of a phosphor to be used in thermoluminescence dosimetry. The authors have shown that langbeinite is a mixed sulphate is an efficient phosphor. They have developed some phosphors based on langbeinites which can compete with CaSO4:Dy. Preparation and properties are described for K2Ca2(SO4)3 and K2Mg2(SO4)3 prepared by solid state diffusion. The data show that thermoluminescence in langbeinites is adequate enough to be used in the dosimetry of ionizing radiations.
