PSEUDOCHOLINESTERASE IN OBESE AND HYPERLIPEMIC SUBJECTS

摘要
It was found that serum pseudocholinesterase increases not only in obese sub- jects but also in hyperlipemic patients with normal body weight. A good statistical correlation was found between serum pseudocholinesterase on one hand, and both serum cholesterol and the logarithm of serum triglycérides concentration, on the other. It cannot be stated whether increased pseudocholinesterase activity should be correlated with a possible role of the enzyme in the metabolism of lipids or with an unspecific and rather general stimulation of protein synthesis in the liver of obese and hyperlipemic subjects. © 1968.
