摘要：

Calculated values of the lifetime of the 3s3p3 5S2o state of P II differ within a factor of more than three. A recent experimental determination gives a lifetime of 167+/-12 mus, confirming our earlier calculated value of 163 mus. We discuss the reasons for the discrepancies between the theoretical values determined in each case from quite sophisticated calculations and make recommendations on the essential stages of a calculation of transition probabilities of intercombination lines.
