摘要：

A workshop is reported, where various groups were discussing where research and development in human factors in computer systems should be heading in the next decade. Various human factor issues were identified, and system design tools were proposed. Knowledge-based tools and kinds of data were discussed to accurately represent design and programming. It is indicated that techniques of investigation must be developed to explore the interaction of the user's cognitive characteristics and capabilities with the tasks and tools in specific environments.
