Electron scattering spectra and TEM observations have been combined to study aluminum implantation in Fe-Al 40 at. %. The conversion electron Moessbauer spectroscopy (CEMS) technique shows a single Moessbauer line at 10**1**4 ions/cm**2 whie magnetic components appear as soon as 3 multiplied by 10**1**4 ions/cm**2; this behavior may be connected to partial atomic disordering. The values of hyperfine interactions have the same order of magnitude as those measured in transmission Moessbauer spectroscopy on either crushed or filed material. The damage recovery is shown to occur in the 300-600 K temperature range.
